Hello friends,

I joined Pinterest earlier this year and have had a blast pinning resources for all of my books and favorite topics, like literacy and writing. Please drop by anytime to see what’s new as I’ll continue to add pins over time.

Here’s an example of a pin I made for RAD!

BLUE SKIES featured on Kirby Larson’s Friend Friday blog

Hello friends!

What a treat to be on author Kirby Larson’s blog! I am a huge fan of hers! Hattie Big Sky and Duke are two of my favorites.

In the post I write about my journey to publication.

“It wasn’t until I was close to finishing that I realized why Blue Skies is the story of my heart—it is a love letter to my dad.”

Happy Book Birthday to BLUE SKIES today!

Hello friends,

It is with great joy that I celebrate the release of BLUE SKIES today!

My first draft of this story was a picture book, written over fifteen years ago, and now it is a published middle grade novel. I couldn’t be happier!

To read more about my writing journey, visit the BLUE SKIES page on my website and click on the Links. It’s been my honor to be featured on several blogs and I am adding them to the Links section as they go live.

Keep well.

Anne

BLUE SKIES Book Launch Party Postponed

Hello friends!

Due to COVID-19, I’ve made the decision not to travel to Austin at this time. I’m sad to cancel the trip, and the book signing at BookPeople on April 5th, but know it’s the right action for me to take.

BookPeople is an amazing store and I plan to celebrate BLUE SKIES there at a later late.

I’ll keep you posted!

In the meantime, I’m counting down the days until the book is released, and now it’s only three!

Hope you are safe and well.

With gratitude,

Anne

Thank you School Library Journal for your review of BLUE SKIES!

Hello friends,

Here are some of the kind words, SLJ had to say about Blue Skies:

“This is an endearing story that skillfully addresses loss, love, and hope. Weaving together small-town charm and friendly antics, Bustard cleverly integrates a history of the Merci Trains with a young girl’s desperate desire to see her father again. . . . VERDICT This snapshot of a unique time in American history will inspire young readers and convince them that dreams are worth fighting for.” Rebecca Redinger, Lincoln Park Branch, Chicago Public Library, School Library Journal
